Woo hoo!
The Bears actually played better in the second half (not counting Cincy’s opening drive), I think they lose that game under Lovie.
Bengals looked good on both sides, creepy ginger QB Dalton is for real. They really hurt themselves with penalties. And the Bears were 3-1 on turnovers, with the Bengals coughing it up a couple plays after Cutler was picked.
Robbie Gould’s 58 yard FG was a personal best and Bears franchise and Solider field record. He’s made 11 straight of his attempts over 50 yards, tying the record. I used to worry he couldn’t make those long ones.
In other news, there were 3 safeties today (unless I missed one) including the Titans KR fielding the opening KO just outside the end zone and then stepping backwards into it and taking a knee.
Panthers D almost upsets the Seahawks. Bills almost upset the Pats. Terelle Pryor almost upsets the Colts. Saints win Sean Payton’s first game back.
Great start! I look forward to two things developing, hopefully in the next game. One, a fast start to the game, some quick scores. Second, the defensive line putting some pressure on the passer. Go Bears!
Indeed, though the Bengals made some crucial mistakes in the second half to aid the effort, I thought the Bears played very well, did not get down when they lost the lead and hung in there against what I think is a very talented Cincy team. I liked what I saw.
I thought it was interesting with all of the safeties. Week One jitters everywhere? The 49ers/Packers game was one for the ages. That is sure shaping up to be one heck of a rivalry... (BTW, thanks, 49ers! heh)
