Tropical ice cores? Like mango and pineapple flavored?

If the data mined from this can be twisted around to offer "proof" of "climate change" (whatever that's supposed to mean), we'll hear a lot more of this.

If it proves that there is no change in climate (no "global warming"), it'll get buried faster than Benghazi-gate.

We cam pretty much disregard ANY thing that comes from any ice core ‘scientist.’ As a group, they seldom preserve their data; thus, no one can check their findings. We all have to just take their word that what they say they found is what they found.

indicating sea surface temperatures in the equatorial Pacific Ocean over much of the past 1,800 years.

“We have been able to derive a proxy for sea surface temperatures that reaches back long before humans were able to make such measurements, and long before humans began to affect Earth’s climate,” Thompson said.

I though large scale agriculture & watershed modifications started long before that. Learn something new every day! /sarc

The cores will provide a permanent record for future use by climate scientists, Thompson added. This is very important, as plants captured by the advancing ice cap 6,000 years ago are now emerging along its retreating margins, which shows that Quelccaya is now smaller than it has been in six thousand years.

“The frozen history from this tropical ice cap—which is melting away as Earth continues to warm—is archived in freezers at -30ºC so that creative people will have access to it 20 years from now, using instruments and techniques that don’t even exist today,” he said.

I believe that he meant the “plants now emerging from the retreating margins” indicates the cap is melting as the earth continues to REwarm; and that the ice cap is still larger than it was in the past, before the earth cooled beyond all reason.

WELCOME THE WARMTH; FEAR THE ICE!

No agenda there, nope.

Gee, I thought those tropical ice caps had melted. Didn’t the models assure us that would happen?
