Italian girls were exotic hot tickets in the late forties and fifites through the early sixties.

I know my mother was one, an import, and in retrospect, a status symbol.

Sort of like Asian women today.

Don’t I know it! My Dad was assigned to HQ AFSOUTH in Naples in 1968 and it breaks my heart to think of the beautiful Neapolitan gals I saw that I couldn’t get up the gumption to speak to. There were ex-GI’s of Dad’s generation who had married their Italian girlfriends and settled down to live in Naples. They were king of their household & knew the best home cooking there could possibly be & only seldom went back to the U.S. to visit.

Vedi Napoli i puoi muori!

Back in the 80s I had a supervisor who was Italian. We all called him Tony for some reason as that was not his name.

I once had an investigation of a woman who was from Napoli. She really looked classy and carried herself well. She was also attractive even at around 45. When I mentioned her to my supervisor he said that women from Naples had a bad reputation despite the one I met. My supervisor was originally from Brescia.
