The USA and EU sanctions on the Iranian economy, which have taken a hard toll on common Iranians, have also adversely affected Afghans

Sanctions are intended to avert nuclear war. I wonder if the writer would say that nuclear war takes a hard toll on common Iranians and Afghans.

I do feel sorry for the Afghan refugees in Iran. Life is very difficult for them. There are numerous Iraqi refugees also.
