Blake’s 7
"THAT'S RIGHT! Thats what you get! Look at you, ship all banged up! WHO'S THE MAN? HUH? WHO'S THE MAN? Wait until I get another plane! I am going to line all your friends RIGHT BESIDE YOU!"
How about “Mars Attacks”, re Luke Haas and his grandmother as leaders of the resistance?
- The Invaders - Roy Vincent?
- Sliders vs. the Cro-Mags
- The bad movie with the wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper and the special glasses
- Invaders from Mars (Richard Carlson?)
- War of the Worlds (the original)
- Terminator - the original movie, Michael Biehn
and my favorite worst SciFi movie, “Plan 9 from Outer Space”, dedicated to my friend Conrad Brooks, 3rd cop from the left.
Best new non-fiction resistance film, “The Tea Party vs. the Democrats, 2010” - winner of the American Freedom Award presented by the American people who rose up in the spirit of the original Tea Party, Bunker Hill, Lexington and Concord Minutemen and future Continental soldiers.
July 4th - Now that’s not fiction!
July 4th II - coming to America tomorrow!
Babylon 5:
Minbari White Star Fleet (the good guys) vs Shadow vessel

Later in the series:
Interstellar Alliance (the good guys) vs Drakh Planer Killer

Dr. Who vs the Daleks
And then there is Farscape.
Some good ones there. I was always partial to the Fremen in the Dune series by Frank Herbert. While the movies didn’t necessarily pan out, the original books were favorites of mine in my youth.
They Live (1988) has one of my favorite quotes:
I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I've run out of bubble gum.
It is a real shame that UPN skimped on video recording. This meant that the DVDs suck and there is no rebroadcast.
Vila: Where are all the good guys?
Blake: You could be looking at them.
Avon: What a very depressing thought.
I heard tell that the special effects budget for Blake's 7 was £20 per episode (about $28). Even in the late 1970's that's not going to buy you much!
Dont forget.....
ALL FIREFLY ALL DAY! on the 4th
on the Science Channel...starts 8:00AM
Avon: every silver lining has a cloud.
I guess that it’s a more interesting movie in that the guy you are likely to identify with (Harrison Ford/Deckard) turns out to be a bad guy.
Sort of. Good movie.
Max Renn from Videodrome.
