Acting very much like the GOP nominee, Mitt Romney sent a curt message to President Obama today: “Start packing.”

The message, delivered with a chuckle, came in an exclusive interview with “World News” anchor Diane Sawyer who asked the presumptive GOP nominee if he had something to say to the president.

Romney said Obama’s “policies have not helped the American people. They have not helped get jobs, they have not helped raise incomes and they’ve added trillions of dollars of debt.”

He was backed by his wife of 43 years, Ann Romney, who told Sawyer she also had a message for Obama. “I believe it’s… Mitt’s time… It’s our turn now,” she said.

See the exclusive interview tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET on “World News With Diane Sawyer” and 11:35 p.m. ET on “Nightline.”

Last week, the Romney campaign was able to flip the Democrats’ so-called “war on women” strategy by highlighting a Democratic strategist’s attacks on Ann Romney for never holding a job. Ann Romney told a GOP fundraiser this weekend that the failed Democratic talking point had been a “birthday gift.”

As much as I hate Romney it seems like we are witnessing a different campaign than the one McCain ran in 2008. It seems like Romney will be more aggressive, and he wants to win. We’ll see what the end result is, but Romney seems to be smelling the blood in the water, and while I think other candidates would be far more aggressive in their approach, I got to say that at least for now he seems to be more in it to win it than McCain.

I will be voting for Newt in the NC primary on May 8, but in November, when the choice comes down to Mitt or Zero, there is no way I'm going to do anything that helps Zero have a second term. Even if that means voting for Mitt.

I can't stand Mitt, but do you folks really think that he is a true believer like Zero? Do you think Mitt wants to take America down a notch like Zero does? Do you think that Mitt hates what this country stands for?

My duty as I see it is to ensure that the least harm comes from this election and taking my ball and going home just because I don't get my way is not the answer. Fight for a conservative in the primary and in all local elections. But, in the general election, staying home and not voting is the mathematical equivalent to voting for Zero and I won't do that.

“I believe it’s… Mitt’s time… It’s our turn now,”

...this is the mentality that bothers me the most.

Perhaps a fun thing to keep people in this and energized:

The theme: “2012: It’s Curtains for Obama.”

Getting scraps of curtains cut up and mailed to Obama with that message on it.

Other mesages that could work: “It’s curtain time for Barack.” “The Curtain’s coming down in 2012.” “This is your curtain call, Barry.”

Be energized. Demoralize Obama. Remember he cannot stand anyone defying him, not praising him, ridiculing him. He cannot take it. What if hundreds of thousands of curtain pieces came to him with that kind of a message on it? Even if they don’t get to him, he will know they are being sent in huge nunbers.

Uh oh! It's Bob Dole syndrome all over again. What is it with these elites constantly needing their turn?!?

Correct. The objective in November is to kick out Odumbo and his sasquatch wife. Period. Regardless if one hates Mitt if he indeed does become the official frontrunner.

Benedict Arnold wants a turn to be pRes_ _ent.

FLASHBACK:

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts
in some polls, days prior to Election 2008.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney and
TeamROMNEY and the RNME (Republican National Media Establishment)
decided …to attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.

Romney, and the Van der Sloot RNME RINOs for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

WELL SAID. I can’t stand Romney either, but let’s not be ridiculous. See tagline.

Part of his in-it-ness is completely turning around and advocating amnesty now (”the Republican Dream Act”).

But you’re right, he’ll do anything to win.

I’m with you on this one. I wanted Newt too. I just couldn’t believe the “U” turn the decision makers had on Newt. After the first 6 or 7 debates he was the smartest man in the room and then boom they started attacking each other and that was that for Newt.

RE: #6, I'm with you as well. Hell, I've been down in the dumps since last October, when Sarah decided not to run.

In the end, if it is Mittens (and believe me folks I don't care for him anymore than most of you do) at least if he denies Comrade Zero a 2nd term I won't have to worry about being carted off to reeducation camp (and I'm only half kidding).

I think mittens will run a better campaign than McLame.

He will be better funded and seems to want to win and will stoop to any low to get ahead.

Who the heck knows - I just want that kenyan communist gone no matter what.
