A college professor once told me that by adding to costs, minimum wage laws could encourage businesses to be more productive

Yes, they automate or offshore their production and eliminate US based labor costs entirely, bypassing the minimum wage laws. Not really an option for small businesses though, they simply higher fewer people or close the doors.

Maybe a medical business which focuses on certain men’s issues would do well? One which treats afflications often found in gay men?

"In San Francisco, they’d pay a lot more than $5 for a foot long."

LOL.

its worse than that..

lets take a basic closed economy example

Guy1 makes $50,000 a year and guy2 makes $200,000 a year. A good house costs $200,000

The rich guy can buy a good house in one year, the poor guy can buy one in 4 years.

After a numbe of years inflation increases the costs for everything, so the cost of living has risen 100%

So guy1 now makes $100,000 a year and , and guy2 makes $400,000. A good house now costs $400,000.

The situation with the house is exactly the same.

The rich guy still can buy one in one year, the poor guy still can buy one in 4 years.

But instead of making $150,000 a year more than the poor guy, the rich guy now makes $300,000 more.... and thats evil!! The rich got richer!

Well heck, this isn't going to be any inconvenience to your average SF liberal. Just the Po' People, and SF liberals don't really want to have to eat with those bums anyway, right? I mean, remember what a fit those "Occupy" freaks threw when they found out that the "homeless" were mooching THEIR food?

I mean, they love them and all, just don't want them in THEIR county. Can't blame 'em for that...

I was there 2 weeks ago as my GF attended a medical convention. The prices for McDonald’s and Starbucks are almost triple that of the ones in L.A. We noticed it’s like the prices in the international airport at boarding.
