Possibly, but if the convention is deadlocked, their preferred candidate, Mitt, would be so weakened that they’d be fools to stick with him. Although Norquist saying that the Presidency is unimportant was pretty telling.
Moreover, though, if Mitt were to come out of a deadlocked convention as the nominee, don’t you think that there’d be a conservative groundswell against him? I mean, he says he’s a conservative, but we all know he’s a dem. I could never vote for him.
I think a deadlocked convention is the best chance we have to pick our preferred candidate. Who is it though? I really can’t tell who’s the strongest choice right now. Sarah? Huge unfavorables. Santorum? Loses to Obum every time. Christie? Unvetted, would not surprise me that he had huge skeletons. Who’s the right choice?
I could get behind a team up with Sarah and Newt. Palin has been laying low and “teasing” just enough to stay in the back of many minds. Newt and Rick are more or less a toss up conservative-wise, but I am not seeing much “Presidential” presentation from Rick so he’s really less electible.
This lately “contraception” thingy is more something to bash Santorum with. Everyone can think its the nobama campaign, but I’m smelling the odor of Mitt.
Plus Newt can bring the election together as National rather than Local in scope which would “coat-tail” more conservatives for Congress.
You tell us. You must have an opinion.
