I'm sick of this BS. Last weekend I saw probably three plays that were called TDs, even though the player never set foot in the endzone.
They just called a Bengals play not a TD even though the player was plainly in possession, steps into the endzone, then drops the ball after he's knocked to the ground!
However, I watched the game today, and I too felt they got screwed on that call.
But the game did provide a highlight for me: “Pacman” Jones tackling a Raven by the dreadlocks. LMAO! Bet that gets penalized in the future...
It’s a hard line to find, living with the human failure of the officials, and having a touchdown overturned because of something the officials could never see in real time.
I have a question about college rules. If a player fumbles the ball into the end zone from the playing field, is it considered a TD if his team recovers? I thought it was considered a touch back and turn over. TAMU lost in four OT periods on that call last weekend.
Don’t know about college rules, in the NFL the short answer is “it’s complicated”, mostly boiling down to if it’s the final 5 minutes and if the ref rules it’s a forward fumble (which is against the rules in the final 5). In general recovering a fumble in your go to end zone is a TD, except for when it’s a penalty. But that’s the NFL, mostly the same rules as the NCAA except for when they’re massively different.
Soccer is for eurofags, I mean europhiles.
“Screw that offside rule.” So you think the players should just be allowed to camp out by the opposing goal and wait for the ball to be sent in.
You obviously never played the sport.
Begin with ten minutes of free kicks, then start the...game.
The world's dumbest question gets asked ocne again. Here's the answer:
When the product your business produces becomes so popular across broad swaths of the population that: it is part of the history and lore of your city, it is so interwoven into society that people post comments regularly about it on FR and everywhere else, politicians fear they will lose their jobs if your product leaves town, it so incredibly popular that it gets its own national holiday, and because of your product's overwhelming popularity with people that never directly consume it, the facility you produce your product in is quite obviously a public good the same way a city park is. Simple really.
Give me more 13-9 games and a lot less of those 34-27 games. There is no reason for a QB to pass the ball more than 10 times in a game. I also want to see more muddy uniforms.
Can anyone explain the “tuck rule”? The Bengals (again) QB made what looked like a fumble, during the Seahawks game. It went backwards, toward the Bengals endzone. Bengals recover, at their own 1 yard line. It was ruled an incomplete pass though, due to the “tuck rule” and the Bengals got the ball back at their own 11 yard line. I didn’t understand it.
Basically the tuck rule says that once the QB starts to throw even if they change their mind it remains a throw (and therefore will be an incomplete pass not a fumble) all the way up until the “tuck” it into a normal carrying/ non-throwing position. Terrible rule, really dumb. But there it is.
I’m just sick of San Diego squandering every opportunity to play an interesting game.
I don’t know, they seem to find interesting ways to lose lately. With the way they came out in September I thought they might be turning over a new leaf, not so much.

So what you are saying is that it is OK for the Government to take money from my pocket to pay for your entertainment?
I get it.
Has been for over a century. If you have a beef about that sort of thing, take it up with those Marxist toddlers down the street; the ones that took money out of your pocket to have that jungle jim they seem so fond of at the city park.
I sincerely hope not. I'm a Ravens fan, but even I was laughing my @ss off about that tackle. Serves him right. Football players with long hair like that deserve what they get. Torrey Smith needs to get a haircut. Maybe this is what it will take.
All scoring plays are now reviewed in the NFL. This is no longer an issue.
And I believe the rules should focus on preventing injuries more than providing the offense or defense an advantage to raise or lower scores, which is what most rules seem to be about now.
