If Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia can split peacefully, so can we
Peaceful?? NATO bombed the **** out of the former Yugoslavia! And there was horrific fighting - still is for all we know, between ethnic groups in the the Balkan areas. If things get that bad, forget peaceful - it'll be a bloodbath
FTR, it was Germany that destabilized the former Yugoslavia back in 1991, and afterwards Clinton was induced to do their dirty work for them; and now the former Yugoslavia has been carved up between the European Union and Russia (now doesn't that sound familiar?)

There is no peaceful split, either in Yugoslavia or if it happens here. Lincoln didn't quote Jesus Christ in vain when he said "a house divided against itself cannot stand"—he wasn't standing for a divided USA back then, and neither must anyone today.

But how do we reach people who are so far gone that their first reaction to any disagreement is violence? We now have multiple generations that not only expect and demand entitlement, but literally would not be able to survive without it. We may have to stay unified, but we will collapse internally nevertheless.

Divided USA? I hate to break it to you, but we are united on NOTHING. There are two countries occupying the same land - with NOTHING in common.

Everything these days is polarized - abortion, immigration, economy, defense, etc. Czechoslovakia proved it could split peaceably and survive. It is past time for a split; let’s find out which side of the issues is right. But then, we know the answer.
