The problem is trolling. There's a cabal of the bored laying down a thick layer of distortions, half-truths, silliness and fabrications on thread after thread.
Friday we even saw one post an image of Jesus with Perry's face superimposed and a caption along the lines of, "He is the messiah! Rick Perry's the only democrat who can save us from Obama!"
These folks don't suggest alternatives, don't scrutinize their own candidates or even post about their own choices.
They belittle, harass, harangue and attempt to intimidate others posting well sourced information about Perry.
They're not interested in facts, just attacks they do not substantiate.

Don’t put me in that group, unless you have some evidence. I’ve had 10 years of Perry and have plenty to say that purely factual.

You can put me in that group. I don’t have a favorite, I just know that I would NEVER want this country to have to endure Perry. About half of the Republican field (and it’s big) is conservative, and I’ll take any of them (and no, I don’t put Perry there).

I see that a lot more from Perry supporters. The ONLY times I’ve EVER been called a liberal on this site (over 10,000 posts, 95% of them having nothing to do with Perry) was when I said things that Perry’s people didn’t like. On the other hand, I do see other Perry opponents going a bit over the top, so it does go both ways. I guess that happens when things start to heat up.

In almost all cases of legitimate criticism (as opposed to over the top stuff, like calling him Jesus), Perry’s opponents have listed sources. It’s very easy for us.
