Don't like Perry? How about promoting your candidates positives?
8/27/11 | Listenhillary

We are adults and most on FR are very intelligent persons. I think we can decide if a candidate is right for us.

How about stop repeating the same Gardasil, Texas corridor, immigration stories over and over and over. Most have seen them by now if they have been paying attention. Most have judged the stories and condemn Perry to hell for them or they think that a president just might have different priorities than a state governor.

Screaming at us in all caps isn't going to change any minds. FR isn't the entire universe of voters. We are a very small pool of voters. If you're hell bent on trashing a candidate, it is likely that your efforts are wasted trying to persuade FR posters to change their minds about a candidate. Start standing out by the road with a sign telling your horror stories, pestering people in restaurants and buying billboards and advertising in newspapers and TV. You will have much more impact.

If you insist on cherry picking the negatives, can we do the same to you reviewing every decision and action that you have taken in your life? How would that work out for you? Honestly showing everything you have done, could you withstand the scrutiny?

I realize some of you insist that we are making a horrible mistake. The primary isn't until next year. Stop screaming. OK?

Dumbest on the part of the middle? Yes, they are “independent” because they can't take a stand.

I would wager a great deal of coin that the average person in this country tell you W was a Texan and would not believe Bush was a NE family.

Was I right? I’m pretty sure George H. W. Bush moved to Texas from somewhere in the North East.

And I think you would become rich beyond all measure if you made that wager. Not only that, but even after GHW Bush moved the family to Texas, GWB still went back to the NE for school, including the Phillips Academy in Andover, Yale, and Harvard (where he went to business school after the University of Texas law school turned him down).

I guess if you think her being a “quitter” is a positive...

How ironic on your thread about civility it only took 5 posts for someone to rehash this Palin is a quitter BS.

If my memory serves me, the Bush family originally came from New England. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Two of the older ones certainly (still) talk like they came from NE! :)

Barbara still thinks like a NE elite Republican. She wants Sarah to "go back to Alaska and stay there." Said it on TV to Larry King! It's on Utube.

I guess the summers in Maine keep them confused.

The Bush's are part of the GOP Elite. You can't expect much more from their wives.

Laura definitely leans to the left. Still, she has more class and grace in her little finger than the first wookie has in her entire ample body.

I think I hear a whinner.....

It’s election season...and people have passion for their candidate as well as opposing those they believe would be harmful to our nation. Others have determined it’s wise to vet candidates presented here on Fr..and should do so.

There’s a reason why hightened passions rise....it’s a very serious election this year and nobody wants to hold their noses to vote again! So they will appose mightily any push for a candidate who is not conservative. Expect that.

FR is a conservative website. We should be supporting those who are so....and vet those who simply wear the skin.

It’s been said....”If you can’t stand the heat”....you know the rest. People can always scroll by what they don’t want to engage with. That’s freedom!

And support Mitt...not openly, yet, but you can take it to the bank!

The push is on for Perry and this website is part and parcel to vet him and others. It’s known well that for truth to be understood repeating it is advantageous.

The problem Perryites are having is their defense of Perry isn’t strong enough to curb the tide away from the facts of his history and associations...his record and his actions.
Thus since they cannot persuade others they would perfer the rest remain silent. It’s just not going to happen their way.

Well people are cherry picking Bachmann all the time on here. Goes with the territory. They find faults on everything she says. And so nobody should be exempt from critics.

Too bad.

You make the worst argument that all fake conservative,pro-illegal people make;

“I’m okay breaking the law as long as it suits me economically.”

If upholding the rule of law means that in our economy an onion costs 10 dollars—— then that is what an onion costs. It is called the free market. Then- guess what!? Some enterprising person will come along and see a great opportunity to make money by creating something that makes picking onions more tolerable and efficient (a machine, a process, etc) and then he’ll get them cheaper and sell them cheaper and be the onion king. That’s how the free market works and that is how America made our money and greatness. No exceptions here.

Your argument is no different than any urban drug dealers. Breaking the law to line your pockets because following the law to make money is “too hard” or “not enough.”

Admit the selfishness and ridiculousness of your stance and stop pretending in any way to be conservative.

America won’t vote for anyone who is a politician, panders, changes core values based on certain situations (the famous things are “Grey” argument theory of life) and refuses to outspokenly support and show conviction and clarity in explaining their core ideals.

Right now, as you stated, we don’t have a single candidate even close to that. It’s pretty pathetic, and give all the more support for why we really need to leave the Republican party.

If the party isn’t inclusive or conductive to promoting people who have the qualities I mentioned earlier above, then the party serves no purpose at all, except to endlessly embarrass and marginalize us, as conservatives.

Exactly what is going to play out in ‘12. Bam’s got this wrapped up, and it is a huge deal-— he should be the easiest president to dismount in 100 years, and he is in no true danger at this point of losing yet.

People who have true conservative convictions, stand by them, and don’t play the “it’s all grey” game, are not accepted in the party leadership and written off as “Extremists”. So we have the communist party, and the party and the socialist party, but both collude to keep the national conversation and opinions very far left.

Yeah some Freepers have inclinated that as long as there is an opt-out option than big government health mandates are no big deal?

So I have to wonder if they feel the same way about Obamacare? I mean there are opt-options for Obamacare as well?

“No one wants the jobs they are filling. Ever see an illegal working as a bank teller? NO. They pick onions for 10 hours in 104 degrees. No one wants the jobs they will take. No one.”

Ah. Illegals are not legal. They can’t get hired at a bank. Many of them work McDonald’s and as janitors and the such because they employers break the rules to hire them since they can either pay them less or since there are many they can hire. Some pick fruit, but many got to sanctuary cities and work jobs that aren’t “picking fruit” then they get into gangs or if not they want everything to be in Spanish only and live in a sheltered community. They do whatever they need to remain in the USA so as such use phone social security numbers. Or they even steal numbers and identities. Fake o5r stole Driver licenses. Even pose as other people. Even then lie about who they are. That way they can get benefits and live off the state.
