In order to find a person guilty of murder 1 you need evidence to conclusively proove that the individual did indeed committ murder.
The Prosecution FAILED to prove that Kally was murdered by Casey and failed to proove she was even murdered at all. There is no evidence, just suspicion and suspicion isn’t enough to execute a person.
The damn prosecutor here WASTED taxpayer dollars on a hopeless case. Had he gone for a lesser charge he MIGHT have won the case.
Were I on the jury I would have voted exactly as they did.
The second count of which Casey was accused: felony murder (associated with aggravated child abuse), does not require an intent to kill, but is still a capital offense. Is there reasonable doubt that Casey was not guilty of at least that second count? Caylee did not die of natural causes.
This seems a really sad tale, to bad the state did not wait until it had real evidence because if this mom really did the deed, she got away with it.
For Murder 1, you must prove premeditation. I am not a lawyer, but I could play one on tv, I bet.
There was an opportunity to vote for a lesser charge....manslaughter, and she was found “Not Guilty” of that charge also.
I believe it was negligent homicide...she drugged her baby so she could go out , and accidentally overdosed her.
I agree absolutely. I’m astounded by the number of people who believe she should have got a death penalty without any direct evidence. Her whole family is guilty of dysfunction and maybe worse, but the jury did the right thing based on the fact presented by the State.
Oh, yeah, and NO WIGGLING.
I get to keep to keep time. You get 15 minutes.
Bet you can't make it!
The test is not :conclusively prove” nor is it “beyond a doubt”. The test for proving a crime is “beyond a REASONABLE doubt”. I find it a bit hard to see what was the REASONABLE doubt.
There never was a case.....good verdict for a bad trial.
one has to wonder when the entire media goes after one person, that something is not quite right...
