Cops Refer Homeless Man’s Arrest To Feds
Author: Man With McVeigh On Day Of Bombing

UPDATED: 7:49 pm EST March 10, 2011
BOSTON — The author of a book on the Oklahoma City bombing said a homeless man arrested in Quincy on Wednesday was identified by several witnesses to the bombing as having been with Timothy McVeigh on the day of the deadly attack, the Patriot Ledger reported.
Quincy police on Thursday spoke with the author and notified the FBI of the arrest of Hussain Al Hussaini on a charge of slashing a mans face with a beer bottle in Quincy Square, the paper reported.
Quincy police Capt. John Dougan said the suspect has the same name as a man featured prominently in the 2004 book The Third Terrorist: The Middle East Connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing. The man also has a tattoo on his arm that matches the description of one on the arm of the man in the book, the paper reported.
The author, Jayna Davis, was contacted by The Patriot Ledger on Thursday.
His age, his name, the picture, the mug shot, thats him, Davis said.
Davis saw Al Hussaini during depositions for a lawsuit he brought against her.
Davis said Al Hussaini, a former Iraqi solider, was seen with McVeigh in the weeks before the Oklahoma City attack and on April 19, 1995, the day of the bombing, which killed 168 people.
McVeigh was executed for his role in the bombing. Al Hussaini was never charged.
Al Hussaini, 45, is being held on $500 bail on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is also being held for a probation violation. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and to stay away from the Father Bills homeless shelter.
The victim, a 37-year-old homeless man, told police Al Hussaini struck him with a beer bottle Wednesday morning.
