There are innumerable examples amongst living species, the fossil record, DNA analysis and even embryo development of "intermediate" stages, showing how evolution can proceed one-step-at-a-time, over many millions of generations, to eventually produce the diversities we see today. When a theory reaches the point of being defensible only by lying, you should drop it.
