I was watching an old TV talk show once and the host asked several of yesteryear’s big-name actors about the stupidest line they’d ever had to read for a movie. Kirk Douglas said that Cecil B. DeMill once actually wanted him to say “The Sodomites are coming, let’s head em off at the pass!!” and he (Douglas) tried three or four times and could not keep his face straight and an extra ended up reading the line with his face turned away from the camera. The entire audience was on the floor as you can imagine.
