Authorities Find 'Improvised Explosives' Inside Connecticut Home

DEVELOPING: Connecticut police and FBI agents are investigating what they say appear to be "improvised explosives" and bomb-making materials found late Wednesday night in a New Haven home.
Firefighters found the materials when they responded to reports of smoke at 17 Hubinger Street, New Haven Police Officer Joe Avery said .

According to AP:
"Police in Connecticut say they don't believe apparently explosive devices discovered in a New Haven home were intended to be used for terrorism.
"Police and FBI agents are waiting for a judge to let them search the property. Police say they're also looking for the person who has been renting the apartment..."
So, if the explosive devices weren't for terrorism, what was their purpose.

Wells said he saw New Haven police officers "stomping on a box" early Thursday morning, and that police dogs were on the scene. Somehow, that does not sound like a prudent bomb disposal technique.
