A crocodile grabs a elephant's trunk in the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. Photographer, Martin Nyfeler was traveling through South Luangwa National Park when he witnessed this female elephant and her baby drinking from the Luangwa River.
Leaping out of the murky waters a vicious crocodile set upon the pair, biting into the female's trunk. Using her mighty strength the female - aided by her brave baby - survived the attack and was later seen feeding from the river later in the day

I love elephants. I think they are one of God’s most amazing creatures.

Great photo. It seems odd though how the author applied “extra” virtue onto the elephant and depravity onto the croc. Heck, even the “brave baby” assisted our story’s heroine. :)

Straight out of Kipling’s “Just So Stories”.

Because the elephants are mammals like us and the croc is a slimy vicious reptile.

Agree, but personifying these creatures with human emotions such as "depravity" is pretty common. The crocodile knows nothing of depravity. He (or she) is just acting on 100 million year old genetic programing. "See food...must eat food to continue species".

Hippos are mammals too and they make short work of crocs. I love elephants. The baby is so cute.

They came first for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the elephants...

Let's not mess with Babar, I guess.
