I was just watching my local news here inn Minneapolis-St Paul.
They broke in to show live footage of the first Chilean miner being brought to the surface.
This is good news!
32 more miners to bring to the surface. Fingers crossed, everyone!
Chile is looking like a good candidate for a place to bail from Obamunism. Zero should have taken a lesson in crisis management from the Chileans — under promise and over deliver is a recipe for a happy populace.
Meanwhile I'm disgusted at Fox's coverage. They sound desperate for something to fail. They keep replaying the whiniest psychobabble liberal shrinks can produce and the most implausible PC medical scenarios. The trapped miners haven't seen the sun in 2 months so must be sick from vitamin D deficiency! Do they think Chile was too stupid to include vitamins with all the food and water sent the past month? And if they were lacking in any vitamin I'd be far more concerned about C. They could all have contagious diseases... not unless someone was already contagious the day of the collapse! It's hot and humid down there... much like the Amazon PC paradise. Pathetic and insulting to the brave miners.
These men were doing physically hard work, so must have been fit to start. Groups of healthy people have survived much worse in the past, if they had strong leadership. Think of Shackleton and Endurance. And, it must be remembered, that rescue finished with the help of the Chilean Navy!

Their navy must be truly awesome. Solid engineers to help with the rescue capsule design and special forces paramedics with the stones to go down into that cave. Just damn.
And the Shackleton expedition was the perfect reference.
Our president would be charging a toll tax!
