You touch on the fact that ammo supply can be choked off. Always a good idea to stockpile a few rounds for a rainy day.
Ironically, the guns I have taken to the range over the past year have been Warsw Pact, mainly because I could still find cheap ammo to feed them, while .45ACP and 7.62 x 51 were scarce as hen’s teeth.
