I wonder about fields such as women’s studies, black studies, gay studies, etc. Some colleges offer majors in these fields. But I can’t see how someone with a degree in women’s studies has any marketability in the job market.

Gosh you need lots of math to make any money. Didn’t see that one.

But I cant see how someone with a degree in womens studies has any marketability in the job market. I used to think the same thing. Then I stumbled across a list of all the federal gummint grants that cater to this crowd.
I have never been able to decide whether I want to see all of these majors nuked or am glad they exist so that the people who take them stay isolated from those on campus actually trying to learn something.

There's always a need for a professor or program develop-
ment gal to tell a college or university that they need
more women's studies people.
