Then there are the women who take beatings daily and go back to the same guy.

I don’t think that these foolish groupies are typical of American women. They’re just a fringe group.

"....despite what they say, women seem to be most enthralled with societys most dangerous and violent men." A violent mans wishful thinking?
It's likely this fringe group of women don't think he actually did it.
What a nutcase this author is.

Women hear what they want to hear. Evil has a charming face. A silvery-tongued psychopath can seduce an innocent woman, and it happens all the time. The Don Juan myth is woven throughout literature back through time.
Look at the liar in public office and how he has charmed so many voters. Give me a tangle-tongued but honest president any time.

In fact, convicted killers and rapists such as Scott Peterson and Richard Ramirez are far more likely on any given day to receive amorous attention from women than, say, some guy schlepping away day after day to provide a nest egg for a future wife and children
A couple of points:
1. Articles from a Website like this drive me crazy. They have oversimplified the problem. Yes some women will gravitate to bad men. I don't understand it and it's a topic for psychologists. But the vast majority of women would run from Van der Sloot IF they knew about him. If they didn't know his background they would react to him as an attractive guy which he is.
2. A far larger percentage of women are attracted to guys who could be considered bad boys. Although not murderers and the like, they tend to be losers and treat women badly and yet some women cling to them. Now this is a worthwhile topic for the Feminists to work on. Why are so many women (although still a minority) attracted to such bad men. They could do a lot more good for women if they could crack this problem rather than push for the Marxism that seems to be a the core of everything they support. Are you listening NOW?

JVDS is a predator. He has handsome features which might attract women, but I suspect he has very few social skills beyond the first *charming* encounter.
Women are born with self-preservation instincts which is why predators use drink and drugs to overcome them.
There was a time when young women listened to their parents and other family guardians. Not true anymore, boys and girls are getting their life guidelines from Hollywood and the internet....where there are no moral absolutes.

There have been studies done on the attraction women have to dangerous men. Probably has something to do with the likely hood of the child produced from the match surviving infancy.
In some cases people don't have the intellect to not allow their emotions to over come their logic.

The guy looks a little like Michael C. Hall. Dexter is an alluring serial killer and has probably helped to “glamorize” these freaks.

Long ago, I worked in a law firm with a woman who got all squishy over some of the male criminal clients -- whom I called "cute brutes". Turns out she'd had an abusive creep with a criminal record for a father who left her and her mom when she was young.
Maybe the women who go for killers also want a guy just like the guy who married Dear Old Mom.

I agree with those who believe the author grotesquely overgeneralizes.
