I’m cool with wine, particularly, red wine, since it is now PROVEN to have MAJOR health benefits. Vodka and just about any other alcoholic beverage is simply bad for you...or at least they have not been proven beneficial.

Smirnoff’s citrus with club soda can be very benefical now & then during the BHO regime.

I believe all alcohol in moderation has been found in studies to have beneficial effects. It's true that red wine has been studied more.

I won’t dispute it...I just haven’t seen too much on other stuff.

If I was a mother living in PA, I’d probably want an IV tube loaded with Vodka going into my right arm, especially if I lived in that school district(lower Merion?)that spied on students through their school-mandated computers.

Check your facts. Additional studies have shown that the benefits of resveritrol may be overstated, and that the primary benefit is the alcohol in moderation. Besides, I get other excellent health benefits from the olives from my martini - I always add extra...

I think if your mother enjoys alcoholic beverages, it would be far better if drinks are made that encourage less consumption of alcohol, in favor of other ingredients. Go for elaborate concoctions that take a long time to make, and it’s hard to tell how much alcohol is in them.

Also have food with the drinks. Certain foods slow down alcohol absorption, like eggnog made with raw eggs, and boiled potatoes, before drinking. Others tend to neutralize it, such as acidic and salty foods. Pickled foods are very good for this. Follow this up with oily foods, and mom might as well be drinking water.

The same basic principle works even if she drinks alcohol neat.

Try to avoid mixing it with anything carbonated.

"The state shouldn't be promoting alcohol consumption. The timing of this PR campaign is dangerous and disappointing ... and sends the wrong signal to teenagers during prom season."

The message being...what? That alcohol is for Moms and other boring people? Sounds like a good message to me! I wouldn't complain about receiving a nice bottle of WoodFord Reserve for Mother's day, especially not if it came with twelve hours of quiet in which to consume it...

“resveritrol”

I wasn’t referring to reverse-it-all or whatever, I was referring to red wine, which still baffles people.

The French and Italians have pretty much proved the value of red wine, by eating the worst crap in the world, and then living forever (or close).

Yeah, it's not what's in the red wine, it's the red wine itself!/s

Are you sure you didn't mean to say red wine causes people to be baffled? I think I have empirical evidence for that.

WoodFord Reserve for Mother's day...

I like your style. Haven't tried it; certainly will. How would you say it compares to Knob Creek? I've tried that.
