I’ll bet the bill for those shirts is buried in the national debt. Sad to say, it just feels like we are paying for all this spending, but the truth is that nobody is, unless you count the Chinese and the Saudis and whoever else is buying the paper the Treasury prints.
I think it's a myth that the Chinese and Saudis are buying most of our paper. I think the Fed is buying it with its own paper. I like to call all this paper I-owe-me's.
