Is it possible to love an animal?

Is it possible to actually "love" an animal- like a cat or dog? Any Freepers love their pet? How about those with non-traditional pets? Anyone love their cow, horse, snake or pig?

Love might be a little strong...I’m very fond of my dogs, but I wouldn’t lay my life down for them.

I adore my pets. Of course we love our animals. Each has a personality, and while not even with humans are members of our family that are missed when they are gone.

That’s not love. That’s evil.

I absolutely love my dogs. They are willing to kill or die to protect my wife and daughter and I’ll always do the same for them. They are part of my family and I treat them accordingly.

I feel like I love my dog sometimes, but it’s definitely not the kind of love for people or God.

It has been hard for me to deal with the death of a pet.
When I had to put them down I shed some tears.

I love my cats more than I probably would most any people. I'm not afraid to say that. My cats are cool, are my family, and won't do me wrong.

“All of God’s creatures”...though sometimes I question if the Chukar is one of God’s creatures or actually a demon with feathers.

My pets though no question I love them.

yes........ and when we lose one of them, as we inevitably will, it breaks your heart and leaves a huge void in your heart.

I think you better narrow it down to the three types, Eros, Philia, or Agape - and I hope your not refering to the first one.

I don't know if I'd die for one of my dogs but I'd sure kill anyone who tried to harm either one.
