Nothing like endless bloody theological cage matches to win new souls to Christ.

G-d did give his children Free Will to choose, and you must respect those who believe there isn't any such thing as the “Separation of Church and State”. For the record, James Madison coined the phrase because his Intent was to protect the people from the government not the government from the people.
James Madison's Memorial and Remonstrance - http://www.amazon.com/Madisons-Memorial-Remonstrance-Religious-Assessments/dp/B001L110VA
As per usual, the anti-Christian people and atheist use Madison's writings for their benefit, which is wrong. Anyone who studies Madison and understands his background knows he never intended for the people in this country to put G-d out of government.

Just as Believers cannot separate themselves from G-d. We who are saved through Christ Jesus believe we were born with a purpose and that purpose is to represent Him. Are we perfect, No. Are we as humans always right, No. But in Christ we work toward doing what is right.

No matter what is written in revised history books or what the media would have you to believe, this country was founded on Christian principles and teachings.

Were our forefathers and the Founders perfect, NO. They were human, but they gave us the opportunity to live and raise our families in the greatest country in the world. A country where we have the Freedom to believe as we so desire.

So please, do not ask believers to separate themselves from what they believe. When we walk in peace, but take a stand with our Words, do not try to belittle us. If you do not like what we as Christians stand for then maybe you should take a long look within yourself. We aren't your enemy, but as true believers we will not back down.

FR is a great forum to compare & contrast our thoughts with others, thank you Jim Robinson! Knowshon, I’ve found that my further study regarding the nexus of Politics, Religion, Philosophy has helped my understanding, a couple that address some of the issues you’ve expressed:

Well, when you’re seen running around the park naked with a headless chicken some people just might wonder about your religious ideas.
Its just a thought.

50 topics on my screen. Including yours, there are 3 on religion. Not so overwhelming I think. Besides does anyone make you read them? Best wishes, John

I have always thought this was a great site to get great political info.

Always? You have been a member here for less than a year. That gives you credibility to make such an all encompassing claim how?

I come here for political/journalistic references.

Good for you! That is what the largest part of FR is made up of!

If you are going to make your queries 'Religious,' why not go to the religious talking board. Be glad you weren't a member before the religion forum was established. Doctrinal discussions were right here on the front page.

In general, doctrinal issues are in the Religion Forum. Broader issues that impact conservatives, irregardless of what deity they may or may not worship, are often seen elsewhere.

I have been slammed here on what people believe is my perceived religion.

Which is what?
If it makes you feel any better all creeds are equally picked on, including mine. (I am a pPaedobaptist, partial preterist, amillennial, predestinarian. Say that 3 times real fast)

These were for comments which didnt mention religion, and didnt have religious overtones.

And? For many faith drives our world view. Do you want to shut down conservative Christians? (Gee that sounds like a familiar theme.)

You might as well ask why all the semi-satire, pit bull, Friday silliness or other non-political/news threads are on FR. Do threads like those bother you also?

Same thing - don’t click on them if you’re not interested.

The religious arguments are more heated than the political arguments...and more often than not led by pious Catholics. They're at their best ridiculing other religious beliefs.

I stay away from it...and agree with you.

It seems to have gotten a lot worse in the past year or two.

Stay away from threads that don’t interest you. There is a smorgasboard of topics.

Some people enjoy talking about religion. If you don’t, then ignore the threads.

They have been labeled pompously insufferable sanctimonious selfrightousists

The only course is to just ignore their inappropriate postings

While religion is certainly historically linked to conservatism, and you cannot have that without the moral aspect, there are some whom i think go overboard in promoting Catholicism, which, paradoxically, despite some very conservative Catholics, overall is linked to liberalism wherever it predominates, as compared to its evangelical counterpart.
