WASHINGTON A massive, eruptive white dwarf star in the Milky Way long overdue for its next periodic eruption is closer to our solar system than previously thought and could threaten the Earth if it fully explodes millions of years from now.

Perhaps I will be accused of procrastination, but I’m not going to put this high on my “worry list”. ;>)
I am reminded, He promised to never flood the earth again.
Now, I do find it amazing that we have reached a point that we can discover or even contemplate such things.

Couldn’t it have actually possibly already exploded — say 3,259 years ago? We just haven’t been able tto see it yet.
Just thinking maybe we ain’t all that super safe due to the distance.
