I used the mute button a lot tonight...for Alicia Keyes and her dancing puppet; for Jordin Sparks (how in the world did she ever win?); and for the Elvis Elf whose butt cheeks were hanging out. What an awful show!

I’m so sad that Danny is going home. Maybe it’s a reflection of the times we live in. Who wants a handsome, soulful Christian widower when they can have an in-your-face prancing fag instead?

Kris Allen was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Kimberly (née Wood) and Neil Allen.[1][2] He has an older brother named Daniel.[3]

Allen taught himself how to play the guitar at 13, and is also proficient with the piano, the viola, and the ukulele.[4] In 2007, he self-produced an album entitled Brand New Shoes with college friends and bandmates Michael Holmes (drums) and Chase Erwin (bass).[5]

Allen is a devout Christian. He is a worship leader at New Life Church in Maumelle, Arkansas and is a member of Chi Alpha Campus Ministries at the University of Central Arkansas, where he is a business major. He has done missionary work around the world, including Burma, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain, and Thailand.

On September 26, 2008, he married longtime girlfriend Katy O'Connell Allen.
