American Idol: Allison Iraheta Gets Her Record Deal

American Idol contestant Allison Iraheta has signed a record deal with 19 Recordings and Jive Records. The 17-year-old’s debut album is expected this fall.
“I’m think I’m still in shock that this is happening. Getting to record my first album and this whole awesome experience is a dream come true!” Iraheta says.
Iraheta’s record deal comes just after runner-up Adam Lambert signed a deal with 19 Entertainment and RCA Recordings.
Adam Lambert opened up about his sexuality for a Rolling Stone cover story this week - confirming that he's gay after weeks of fan speculation - but at least one person wishes he would shut up about it already: Kiss rocker Gene Simmons.
Lambert performed with Kiss on the "American Idol" finale show and while Simmons is a fan of his voice, saying Adam has, "a future if he wants to sing in Queen or be on Broadway," in a recent TV interview with a Fox Philadelphia Fox - he said he thinks it's time to pipe down with the sex talk.
LOL, forgive me but I suspect a lot of gays would love Simmons’ tongue. LOL.

I get kind of annoyed when entertainers stick any sort of “issue” in my face, whether I agree with their position or not. Most of the time I just don’t care what they think. Really, do they actually sway anyone with a brain?? “Well, I was going to vote for McCain until George Clooney came out for Obama. That’s all I had to hear!”
JMO, but an example for me is Tom Hanks. I know he’s a lib, but he doesn’t rub my face in it every chance he gets, so I give him a pass. I can watch, “That Thing You Do!” not be annoyed. I can’t watch anything with George Clooney without wanting to kick his smug face (except O, Brother, for some reason).

LOL, I know what you mean. I can stand him in O Brother too, but nothing else--not even Out of Sight, which used to be one of my favorites. His character in O Brother is so over the top and Clark Gable-like that I can almost forget who he is.

Idol’ Smithson, Evanescence form band

Former American Idol contestant Carly Smithson has joined forces with members of Evanescence to create a new band.
The singer will front hard-rock outfit The Fallen, featuring drummer Rocky Gray and guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt, as well as bassist Marty O’Brien.
Speaking to USA Today, she explained that the collaboration surfaced because of her friendship with Moody’s flatmate.
“This all happened by accident,” she said. “I met him once or twice [at the house] before the band thing.”
The Fallen are scheduled to formally introduce themselves at a news conference in Los Angeles on Monday, which will also mark their first live performance.
Debut single ‘Bury Me Alive’ will be available for free download from their website following the event.
Irish-born Smithson finished in sixth place on the seventh season of the Fox reality show.
‘American Idol’ David Archuleta’s dad arrested in a massage parlor
“American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta’s dad, Jeff Archuleta, was charged with soliciting a massage parlor prostitute, stemming from a raid in January.
According to People, Jeff pleaded no contest and paid a $582 fine after being arrested at the Queens of Reiki on Jan. 14 in Midvale, Utah.
During the raid, Midvale officers found one client — Jeff Archuleta — receiving services.

“Two of our detectives went back to that room to stop the activity,” Midvale Police Sgt. John Salazar told news outlets. “Inside they found a female masseuse and male client. At that time an interview ensued and the male client admitted to receiving sexual gratification from the masseuse.”
Court documents reveal that Jeff Archuleta, 41, was the client.
But Jeff Archuleta’s lawyer Eric Bauer told a Midvale news station that his client was there getting legitimate massage therapy for his back.
