Odd little lot, the Mandeans: came to the conclusion that, despite his protestations to the contrary, John the Baptist was the Messiah.

Some of the Iraqi ‘Marsh Arabs’ are Mandeans, though hardly any are left, thanks to Muslim persecution.

"In fact it is amazing that Jews, Muslims and Christians have hardly heard of these people, considering they, in all likelihood, are the possessors of the religion and heritage that gave birth to all of the three monotheistic religions"

The article then goes on to say completely the opposite: The Mandaeans are polytheists that believe that Jesus was a false prophet and the Torah is an evil abomination the influence of which will ultimately be rid from the Earth.

This guy must have come out of the transporter with some of his neurons mixed up with his hemmorhoids!

Interesting, although if they don’t have believe through faith in Christ, they are worshiping a God who doesn’t provide a solution for perfect Justice. This means they simply are left to the mercy of a God who must be faced with unrighteousness for all eternity. If not perfectly righteous and perfectly just, he is simply unholy.

Not so, with the God of Abraham, who provides the solution in His Plan.

have hardly heard of these people, considering they, in all likelihood, are the possessors of the religion and heritage that gave birth to all of the three monotheistic religions and they are still around
And those paintings on velvet of dogs playing poker are the fountainhead of 20th century art movements like dadaism and surrealism.

it is amazing that Jews, Muslims and Christians have hardly heard of these people (Mandaeans), considering they, in all likelihood, are the possessors of the religion and heritage that gave birth to all of the three monotheistic religions...
Okay, I'm no expert but the author forgot Zoroastrianism, another monotheistic religion. So there should be Four not Three religions mentioned. And until the Muslim *take over* of Persia was THE dominant religion, starting from 600 BC(1).

(1) Date disputed, 'some' say 100 BC.
