It came on here again last night at 10:00.
Finally!

We were in the 30s last night, but no freeze. Going to be close tonight too.

We may have to start scheduling a monthly viewing of The Alamo just to keep the spirits up doncha know.

We had drizzle to light rain through most of the day Monday and Tuesday so when that freeze hit it got interesting. The precip turned to icy precip about dark on Tuesday but it took a good while before the ground water wasn’t melting it. But, the temps finally overcame the ground heat we had a solid sheet of ice on the ground. Fortunately, ALL the precip was real light even though long lasting so the layer of ice was thin. Still, for those of us getting out at 5 AM it was slickery.

The good news was, had enough to fill my 2 rain barrels so the garden will be happy for 2 or 3 weeks.

It almost got down to 41 last night but it will warm up tomorrow...

Well, despite the weather I'm putting cuke seeds down in the greenhouse today. (That is if I can find what I did with the seeds.) Spring's a comin'!!!

I don’t know what it got down to last night but it was 24 when I got up. 24 is your driver number - not the number of degrees it’s supposed to be. I’d much rather wake up to Jr.’s number.

Midway works well too. ;)

We’re still way too dry. I know many would welcome the ice for the moisture.

I was a bit concerned that we actually wouldn’t get any moisture this time around either. It’s been way too dry here also. At least we got the bit, but I’d much rather it not have come frozen. ~sigh~

I notice we are still under a burn ban today too. Guess that’ll last a while longer. I have a pile of pruned limbs I need to burn.

My office room is an add-on to this house circa 1950. I don’t think there’s any insulation and it’s on the northwest corner of the house. ‘t’s got huge lovely windows. It just ain’t comfortable this week.

Although, praise God, I actually have some work so I CANNOT grumble too much.

The 24 is my driver, but he has gone from turning left to almost falling over left. Will have to see.

We’re still under a burn ban too although it’s getting to where there’s not much out there to burn.

We’re not quite scrounging for work yet, but pretty close.

It’s warming up here but we are 40% behind on our rain. We put up a temporary greenhouse 2 weeks ago but wifie poo won’t start seeds for another Month or so. She orders new ones every year and they are starting to arrive. Were we talking about greenhouses awhile back?

The best part of Daytona isn’t necessarily the 500!

Garden? Geez, i’m 3 months away from changing the oil in the tiller. I wish I could garden, but I have a layer of ice that has to melt off first UGH!

The whole buildup. The anticipation of the whole season ahead. Qualifying, etc. Being there, the best part was the sound of the first car to go out for practice, while sitting in the warm sunshine, after almost 4 months away from racing in cold New England. Feeling the 800 horsepower in the chest, and the smell of burnt racing gas. And the racing at the other tracks around. The parking lots filled with race teams working on their cars, etc.

For me, 3+ hour races don’t take a whole lot to get boring.

Sounds like you've been to a race or two. It gets pretty exciting in the weeks and days leading up to Daytona. Got a new big screen and surround sound for Christmas so I'm pumped this year!!!!

I have gone to a few, back when I had a lot less personal responsibilities. Those were the days!

New Smyrna & Titusville always held more interest for me than Daytona, but Daytona was the big draw.
