What exactly can America sell to Africans? Sophisticated financial products?

Africans need cheap cars, refrigerators, generators and motorcycles - none of which America produces. Africans cannot afford American software (Most African banking software is from India).

All America needs from Africa is Oil, and it is getting more than its fair share.

Americans don’t want to invest in Africa, they want to give aid. So let’s leave Africa to the people who want to invest.

a. What does the United States have to do with this article? The country isn't even mentioned.
b. The United States sells some thing to Africa, such as cheap mobile phones. They are made in developing countries--what isn't--but were designed in the United States. What exactly can America sell to Africans? The same things they sell to Asians, Latin Americans, and other people in developing countries.

The United States also receives coffee, cocoa, and rubber from African countries. And the United States isn't taking increased competition from China and India for African resources lightly.

So you're typing for all Americans now? Smart Americans will invest when there are good investment opportunities. Currently, there are not that many in Africa. However, if in future--especially since Africa has a big potential as a source of natural resources and to become a huge market due to its large and growing population--opportunities in Africa arise, American investors worth their salt would invest. To not do so would be stupid and a missed opportunity.
