I have been doing a lot of praying and been so concerned over a beloved rascal kitty of my daughter’s this week..He was my best buddy when I was staying at my daughter’s home..

I read that Marissa has picked a new kitty and it gave me a lift..

Trubble has improved enough to come home and I am grateful to God..Of course seeing if his kidneys function or reblock has me concerned but I am so grateful he is home and getting lots of love. I dearly love that cat.

I am so thrilled Marissa will have a new kitty!

Remember Me
Remember me when You come into Your kingdom. —Luke 23:42

Matthew Henshaw got his name into the Guinness Book of World Records in an unusual way. After swallowing a 15.9-inch sword, Henshaw attached a 40-pound sack of potatoes to the handle of the sword and held it for 5 seconds. (This is not recommended.)

Henshaw and others like him have gone to extraordinary lengths to have their names memorialized in the world’s most famous record book. The longing for immortality compels people to do many things—some remarkable, and some bizarre.

The immortality Jesus offers has nothing to do with anything we do. In fact, after giving His disciples the authority to do truly remarkable things (Luke 10:17-19), Jesus said, “Do not rejoice . . . that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven” (v.20).

At Golgotha, an unnamed thief believed that message just in time (Luke 23:40-42). He understood that eternal life had nothing to do with what he had done—good or bad. It had to do with what Jesus was doing—giving His own life so that even the undeserving could be welcomed into heaven by God. The important thing is being remembered not by others, but by God.

Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood—
Sealed my pardon with His blood:
Hallelujah, what a Savior!  —Bliss

Our lives matter because God loves us.

JC, if you make that cake on Saturday, you won’t have dessert for Sunday. It is impossible not to ‘sample’ it, and once you do, you won’t be able to stop. LOL!

Actually, it is better warm. Just my opinion.

Yum - pineapple upside down cake? Yesterday I got out two pans that have 6 individual tube cake pans in each. (Like mineature angelfood cake pans.) I washed them up to make 8 little pineapple upside down cakes today. Great minds.........(tee hee)

Yorkie’s right—if you make that choc today, there won’t be any for tom!! And it is better warm.

Choc and pineapple?! Y’all are killin me here! I don’t make either of them very often. Love both! Do y’all use pineapple cake mix/pineapple juice in yours?

I use a yellow butter cake mix and use the pineapple juice for the liquid. It seems a little more dense. I melt butter in the pan(s), add a hefty amt. of brown sugar, sprinkle w/some juice, place pineapples on top - (marishino cherry in center), cake mix over pineapple, bake, invert, and EAT! Yummy

Wow, isn’t that coincidental! I never have a failure with pineapple upside down cake. I had thought of an angel food cake and fix a big bowl of strawberries, if I could find good strawberries right now. Will make up my mind soon though!

Did I send to wrong person....sorry if I did!

Great minds indeed!

Thank you for this post, Meg.

We will be praying for Trubble. A CD that the shelter gave us to review said male cats need to drink LOTS of water. Is there something they can give him to prevent the stones or whatever is causing the blockage.

“Kiity Mittens” was not ready yesterday so we should be able to get him today. We were going to take a drive to the foothills to view Spring in action and then have dinner at a small Inn. We are talking about putting it off until tomorrow so Marissa can get her cat. She is so anxious and was so disappointed yesterday.

Prayers will continue for Trubble.

JC, here is a very attractive, simple, quick and delicious recipe you can make a day ahead: (It’s almost like the brownie cake, but with peaches.)

Peach Cobbler

1 stick butter melted in 9 X 13 pan - set aside
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 T. baking powder
3/4 c. milk

Blend until well mixed

Pour over melted butter

Empty 1 large can peaches (I use elberta, not cling, but both are good) with juice over the top of the batter.

Open 2nd can of peaches, and add them without juice to the first can of peaches on top of the batter.

Bake for 1 hour at 350 until brown and crispy on top.

The Price to Pay

We have a journey coming. The path is marked for you.
You’ve all received instructions in the things you have to do.
Don’t worry about the payment. Your fare’s been paid in full.
It took a little influence, but we know Someone with pull.

You may have had a chance sometime, to give some kids a ride.
I’m sure it made you feel real good, somewhere deep inside.
How generous could you have been to pay the price in pain?
Could you have had the courage to go back again and again?

A million times? A billion? Ten billion ... even more?
We can’t conceive the suffering, or the purpose it was for.
The passage has been paid for us, but something’s still not fair.
You still owe a debt of gratitude that can’t be paid by prayer.

You can pay this debt to others who may need something from you,
Pay it forward, if you will, when you see that it’s come due.
The ones who need are needy. Some even carry signs.
Be careful though to choose your path, there are so many lines.

Do not fall prey to giving, just for the giving’s sake.
The proper way to lend your help will give your back an ache.
And blisters could show up on those oh-so-soft hands you have,
Be comforted that where you’re bound, there will be healing salve.

Me, too! I love to bake—trouble is, if I bake it, I will eat it! Try to make sure I have plenty of company coming before I make the effort! LOL

Boy does that sound delicious. I have a simple recipe for Peach Cobbler but it called for fresh peaches (too much trouble) and its hard to find peaches now!

I may try that, yorkie! Thanks. Its not hard either!

It is a legend. There is no scriptural reference whatsoever to the Cross being made of Dogwood. It is just a beautiful legend, especially this time of year.

I was told this story when I was a little girl. And every time I have seen a dogwood in bloom since, I get all misty, remembering........
