Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Great...
Well, if I can just run the seats out, I can finagle them into place with the door shut, so they don’t get wetter. So there’s that, at least. I s’pose I could always run the heater for awhile. ;-)
But I’d like to figure out a way to vacuum and that. And that’s a bit trickier.
Your landlord has a coin operated vacuum out front. :~)
Woo-hoo! How excellent!
I’m about to get our yearly 3% raise. That’s what we get, regardless of performance. We kind of joke about it. And mine is four months late but thankfully it’ll be backdated so I’ll get a nice little lump some paycheck soon.
He does, doesn’t he? I’d forgotten.
I could at least get some of the grit from around the front seats. Make it look real nice... ;-)
I just stole this. It's been sitting out with all that frap he's got behind his storage shed all winter, with his other empty pots from last year. I've been watching it cheerfully come back to life and it's just cute as heck, and it just seemed too cheerful to be sitting there unappreciated, so I took it.
Stooping to flower kidnapping, huh? For shame!
It’s lovely!
Were those plants that were in there from last year, and are just coming up again this year? They’re so pretty!
Yeah - they’re last year’s plants coming back. :~)
Primroses aren’t even really supposed to be perennial, are they?
Are the primroses the pink-red ones?
They’re purty...
I didn’t think bulbs in a pot would come back so nice, either!
All the low flowers are varieties of primroses I think.
Ah, OK. They’re nicely colorful!

Why Do Gorillas Have Big Nostrils?

What’s The Difference Between Roast Beef And Pea Soup?

Why Don’t Blind People Like To Sky Dive?
Because It Scares The Dog.

A Stick.
What Do Fish Say When They Hit A Concrete Wall?
Dam!
Speaking of perennials...here’s me bein’ a perennial pest again...
So...I’m still playing with number with the car stuff (surprise surprise), and trying to figure where I could cut corners or adjust expectations, whether I go with the Hyundai or one other model I’m lookin’ at pretty seriously, or something else entirely. Now...used or new, there’s a hugh difference in price between manual transmission and auto. And I think the manual would be cheaper and lower-maintenance to operate over the long run, too.
I learned to drive with a stick, but that’s the last time I drove one. And of course, that didn’t involve driving in anything like traffic. Two questions: would it be really stoopid to relearn on a new car’s clutch, and secondly, is a manual a really bad idea anyhow considering I drive home every day in hurry up and wait traffic?
I’d also be kind of afraid to go pick up a car and try to drive it home.... :-\ So if I went that way, I might could use a little help the first day or so. So that’s another con, depending on whether I can convince muh neighbors to drive a new car home fer me...and maybe give me some pointers. ;-)
