Why couldn’t Seattle get snow on a weekday?! It’s fun to be at work and watch cars slide sideways down Madison toward Eliot Bay, pinging off parked cars as they go.

I remember sitting in some restaurant in Seattle in late '85 and watching that.

I think it was three years ago when we got several inches downtown... I made it in because I have a four-wheel drive and I take the train, but most people didn’t so not much work got done.

It took awhile for the city to get with the program and close the hilly streets (Spring, Seneca, Madison...). Until they did, we amused ourselves watching pedestrians and cars slide around.

I had sense enough to wear appropriate shoes, so my walk from the bus to the office was uneventful. I was amazed how many women were tottering around in the snow in spike heels.

I missed all the fun last year, since I was in DC. Y’all got more snow in downtown Seattle last year than DC got through February.
