I remember once, when it was snowing in Atlanta, overhearing a stewardess call it a "four-letter word."

Iranians clearly don't like it either. The Farsi words for "snow" and "ice" sound like (I may have these reversed) "barf" and "yock." *\;-)

Nah, it's that white looking stuff that falls from grey clouds, on days that are usually windy and cold.

You must be mistaking the friendly word 'snow', with the evil, dirty word, "Dust".

Not as dirty as "snirt", (the snow/dirt mix that blows in off some of the fields around here in winter...)
