Thank you for the information.  I've linked it with identification so others will see it more readily.  I cheat and use Microsoft Front Page rather than employ html like most here do.  Here's a helpful thread: HTML Sandbox

Would the amber bottle indicate sensitivity of the product to light?

dezrat's link from Post #15,756:

Product Profile for:
CHLORAL HYDRATE SYRUP
Compare to Noctec® Syrup*

"Didn't the autopsy report state that around 1/2 of the bottle was consumed? 177 mls. left in a 473 ml. bottle would indicate 2/3's of the bottle had been consumed."

From : Medical Examiner Releases Autopsy Investigation Results

2. In most cases of suicide, the victim ingests a large amount of a drug to insure death. In this case, there was a lot of Chloral Hydrate left in the bottle.

2/3 depleted doesn't sound like a lot left to me.  Is Perper an optimist?  Glass is half full kind of guy?

Many discrepancies are noted in the thread.  That's another.

Amber colored packaging is quite common. Whether Chloral hydrate is especially sensitive to UV radiation degradation, I don't know. Any pharmacists here?
