I found this in my Star Magazine, March 26th edition:
Regarding Howard on Feb. 8th.... He was "hungover-looking" as he visited the V&G yachtworks in Dania Beach Fla to check on Cracker..blah blah .."I was showing him the propeller shaft when his phone rang" Billy Hicks, a yacht tech who was with Stern at the boatyard tells Star. "His first words were,'Oh my God, are you sure? Are you positive? Don't touch anything until I get there.' then he snapped his phone shut and said 'I gotta leave now.' When I asked him about a repair that needed to be made to the boat, he told me, 'Look I don't have time to deal with that right now. This is an emergency. I gotta go" Hicks says he was fairly unemotional. blah, blah... Hicks and Joe Zammataro, the yachtworks mgr, agree that Stern received the call and left the boatyard, where he'd been for 20 minutes at 1:20p.m. The 6 mile drive to the HardRock would have taken 20 minutes at that time of day. That roughly puts him at the hotel at 1:40..... 5 min. before 911 was called.
Just to put more names on our ever growing list of players!

Not taking up for HKS, but that is a little ridiculous to state that the bumb was there at the hotel 5 minutes before the 911 call. How does anyone other than HKS know exactly how long it took him. And even if the drive was 20 minutes, you have to add more minutes to park your car in the parking area, pass it over to a valet parker and then get up to the 6th floor and run/walk to the room.
But it is good to know that the bumb had a hangover.
Wow, yet *another* scenario as to where HKS was when ANS "collapsed."
1) At the marina with the Cracker docked - HKS got phone call, walked 40 feet to his car in the parking lot and left (a poster saw this re-enacted on local TV in FL); no mention of anyone with HKS
2) With the broker Dekema, according to Dekema, at Reel Deal Yachts; location of Cracker unknown in this account; exact location at Reel Deal of Dekema and HKS unknown in this account; no mention of KEG and crew man; Dekema said ANS had visited the boat earlier in the week
3) HKS and King Eric taking possession of the Cracker *at* Reel Deal Yachts, according to Reel Deal owner Morjain
4) At sea on the Cracker with a V&G employee, HKS talking on phone with Dekema; Cracker is hurried back to the V&G dock (in Dania Beach) when HKS gets the bad phone call in midst of Dekema phone call; V&G employee helps HKS off boat quickly; no mention of any presence of King Eric or KEG's crew man; this according to Pyle, V&G owner
5) At the V&G boatyard with Hicks and Zamataro; Cracker is at dock there, being inspected; HKS gets the phone call and leaves quickly; no KEG or crew man mention
6) HKS and KEG at the Reel Deal dock with an unnamed RD employee, according to Bruck, the RD manager; preparing the Cracker for travel; HKS got call and had morbid look on his face and had to leave; no mention of KEG's crew man
7) HKS "on the boat" in Ft Lauderdale when he got the phone call; Reel Deal said the Cracker left on Friday for The Bahamas
8) Reel Deal mgr Bruck said KEG and Brigitte were to sail the Cracker to the Bahamas on Friday morning, but that HKS and ANS were not going to be aboard
--Reel Deal Yachts is at the Fontainebleu Resort on Miami Beach; but I don't know where the Cracker was actually moored or had been docked previous to 2-8-07
--HKS and ANS had bought the boat 2 weeks before (approx 2-22-07), KEG accompanying them to the dealership
--ANS friend Sandy Serrano from Studio City and Bakersfield, CA, had gone to The Bahamas to visit the week of the boxing match they attended (1-6-07) and had gone to the Hard Rock with them when ANS decided she wanted a boat and HKS went out to find one
