The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...
Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Is there something blocking the little ‘eye’ the remote talks to on the cable box?

Not so far as I can tell. And even if there was, that wouldn't stop the TV remote from working.
I'm baffled. It was working fine this afternoon, until it wasn't.

Well, we were busy with some springlike projects today...
Cleaned stalls... tidied up the barn, raked up some of the fallen sunflower seeds that are sprouting under the feeder and moved them to some spots out front where they'll get more sun... Not sure if they'll survive or not.
The grass on the first half of the lawn that we seeded over a month ago is finally coming in (finally got to mow it!)... so we moved the temp fence and dug up the other half of the front yard that's gotten worn down over winter...
And seeded that.
Cute kitten pic... Tweek thinks the new chaise lounge Dona gave us is a winner :~)

Huh... Not idea... maybe the remote receiver thingies can fail... but I don’t know why they cable box and the TV would have failed at the same time.

Very nice! It was cold and dreary here today. No spring in sight. :(

And if the remote receiver had failed, it wouldn't start working after we moved it into the bedroom. But it did.
I think there's something in this room that's interfering with the remotes, but I have no idea what it could be.

Is some of your furniture developing mutant superpowers?

Could be! They haven't learned how to block the VCR remote yet, though...
To: HairOfTheDog
Huh...I just saw a hummingbird go by. Guess it’s time I picked up a feeder! Meant to do that this weekend, but I forgot...
To: RosieCotton
Poor thing... he’s looking for a house with a good person in it who feeds hummingbirds. ;~)

Re: tonight's episode of "Lost"... have I mentioned how much I hate "The Others"? Have I mentioned how much I tend to dislike any episode in which they figure prominently?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I need this to make up for everything...
