I hear what you are saying but as long as the horse was comfortable, happy and they could afford it, from a science point of view I can agree. They know they can heal the fractures now. If they can figure out how to stop the laminitis it will affect horses all the way down to the barn yard.

Personally I have doubts about how "comfortable" they were able to keep him. I don't think we were being out and out lied too, but I don't think we got the whole picture either. Once again let me say, I'm no vet, but I do know that walking is what keeps circulation going in a horses legs, if you restrict walking, you're going to have problems. His situation made it impossible to let him move...horses cannot live that way.
