This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I think it was probably deliberate on her part. The thread wasn't going the way she wanted it to.
Oh - I'm just now seeing this chapter. I hope the dogs are in fact OK in their old home. Would have been nice to feel better about where they went, but hopefully they are happy there and maybe the kennel part is temporary till they can get settled. Too bad about the missing dogs... probably got hit somewhere, you think?
Ah - thanks frog.... I thought it might have been you or Beaker.
I too, think he's just reacting to the idea of the drops, and being held down too. I don't like it either. Good tip about the eyelid, I'll see if I can manage that. If we're going to continue this twice a day, we're going to have to find a better system.
REally...I couldn't tell, she seemed rather Dr Jekyell, Mr. Hyde type....Oh well, I backed out for awhile to get my bearings. I need to go over there and read that post on the thread I posted, I skimmed it last night, but couldn't tell what the point was. I may have just been tired:)

It sounds like you've had a nice day. A walk in the woods with the dogs sounds great to me. We're in the upper 70's and sunny here today and I sure hope it holds out through the weekend. These pretty day during the week while I'm stuck here at work are killing me! BladeRider and I are going to meet up tomorrow for a ride and I sure am looking forward to it.
I think it was what is on the inside of YOU vs. what was on the inside of HER .. *wink*
there was confusion all over that thread .. not a good thing. i like her on the other threads .. she's just .... um .... scary on the spiritual thread .. LOL
It wasn't me, maybe it was Cindydawg?
Well My husband's dog is in the garage right now.. She was in the street awhile ago.
I would think if the drops hurt he would continue to squint or rub at that eye after the drops were put in.
turd in the punchbowl? Where did you say that? Was it on the standing on the horses back thread?
I rode Tuffy today, he did fine besides a little spooking. I tried to body clip George with my clipmaster, didn't work. I started researching sheep shears on the internet, I can get some Oster Shearmaster shears but I really didn't want to spend another $300 on clippers.
It was here...

You need to go back and read the whole thread though, and then keep in mind that this thread is an offshoot of things that happened on the Standing On Your Horse thread. Lotsa Drama going on over there lately!
Ooooo, thank you! I needed something to read tonight...
Your blades probably need sharpening. Mine seem to be good for about 2 clips before they're toast. If you can find somebody to sharpen them, it's cheaper than buying new blades. I think I paid about $6 per pair the last time.
I sure do dread doing body clips. Mine take SO long to shed and I guess I'm impatient for that nice light gray color that my roans turn in the summer.
I'm outta here for the weekend. Y'all have a good one!
If you can clipper a clean/dry horse it willsave some wear and tear on your blades.
Glad tuffy's feeling good, even if feeling good means being a little spooky.
You think the clippers are shot or just need either sharpened or new blades?
Since Frog mentioned it, I do think the blades need sharpening. I didn't think of trying that, duhhhhhhh. I would like to buy the shears but I just can't justify that much money if a blade sharpening might do the trick.
You sure stirred up a hornets nest over on that horse.com forum. Pretty funny reading, those people are nuts.
I had no idea it would be so controversial. :~)
Hey that's great about Tuffy:)
