I love that pic of Pony.
Well, part of spring is that unpredictability of weather changing all the time, but at least it's not always cold!
I don't want to be fooled either, one of the worst wind storms I remember as a kid was on Washington's birthday. But nevertheless, these warm days make me think of getting grass seed. Not yet, but almost :~)
I do too... I put it on my desktop, peeking at me :~)
I'm afraid I emailed them back and said I don't know what horse you're talking about :) I really didn't feel like dealing with them (I have decided I'm not selling any more horses to non-horse people if I can help it - I'm tired of Bob babysitting them all).
What happened?
Still very cold. -5, but going to hit 8 today. One more day of this and suppose to get all the way up into the 20's. The heat tape has kept the water hydrant from freezing in the barn again and the woodburner is helping keep the house warm.
Alison didn't have school today and my SIL, who works construction outside, has not been to work. I have him busy doing some more odd jobs here. We went to Home Depot yesterday and bought a new toilet for the other bathroom and he installed that. Never ending projects around here.
Tell me about this heat tape... I'm wondering how that works!
Good morning!
Mine is not quite this long, but is the same type.
Huh! Cool.... I'll look into that next time I'm at Home Depot. Do they have heated water hoses?
Oh - every time Bob sells a horse it's like he signed on for life to teach riding, horse care, level ground (including hauling his tractor in a snow storm 40 miles away)
Good morning. It did NOT freeze last night at my house :)
lol....I don't know. I bought this heat tape from True Value. The store clerk (young kid) had no idea what I was talking about. Maybe he was new. Don't you have these on your house? Of course, you do not get the sub-zero temps we do. When I lived in a mobile home, we had to have the pipes wrapped in the winter.
I have to get my papers all ready to file my income taxes. That time of year again. :(
No - we don't have it on ours, nor are they common, I don't think. It's common to put some kind of foam insulation on pipes under the house, but nothing that is plugged in. I'm sure it's because our climate doesn't usually remain in deep freeze for long. Our low lows are usually around 20.
Here, none of our pipes even have insulation on them except one hot water pipe that was replaced a couple years ago, and that one only because he ran it on the OUTSIDE of the house. Yeesh. I demanded the insulation on that. The handy man said "you could just let it drip to keep it from freezing" Yeah right. Run hot water all winter to keep it from freezing... that's efficient! :~o
We lined the outside of the house here with straw to hold a little more heat in, and deep straw along the back where that pipe is. It's not tidy, but it keeps it warm enough here that we haven't had a problem, as long as we've got power and heat. I guess one of the benefits of no insulation is that more heat leaks under the house. ;~)
:'). You probably can't change him. He's a teacher. If it makes him happy...For a package like that you should up his price though. People would probably pay big money for something like that.
Everyone is ready for taxes but me. Hubby is waiting for his deductions:')
Tuffy has an abscess. Shoer pulled shoe and was able to drain it but he's still head bobbing lame. Anybody have any ideas on why it's taking so long for him to feel better?
What is your new job???
My only idea would be he didn't get it all yet. That there's another abscess. Relief should be pretty immediate when the pressure is really relieved.
LOL - you're right of course, just doesn't stop me from whining about it.
