Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The news this morning is immigration and how it should be handled. I will try to keep this space as dispassioned as possible, but when the protestors carry symbobls such as this...
...it is hard to maintain a cool state.
Around 500,000 marched in Dallas, TX, for the rights of illegal aliens. Yes, the same folks who would want us to have sympathy for those people use such symbols as the American flag in distress and are brazen in their attempts to provoke.
Meanwhile, in St. Louis--this is 1,000 miles from Mexico(!!)--protestors seeking status for the illegals, or maybe the illegals themselves, are not carrying an American flag, but the flag of the invaders...
Other demonstrations took place in New Mexico, Minnesota (2,000 miles from Mexico!), Michigan, Iowa, Alabama, Utah, Oregon, Idaho, and California.
Meanwhile, a group calling themselves the "Border Guardians" burned a Mexican flag in front of the Mexican Consulate in Tuscon.
Then there is to be a protest today on The Mall in Washington, and get this: students from the Montgomery county, MD, school district who attend the event GET CREDIT!
In many cities today, in a National Day of Action, there will be protests. These will occur in such places as Washington, DC; Los Angeles, CA; Boston, MA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Bakersfield, CA; Fort Myers, FL; Hays, KS; Oxford, OH.
Organizers intend to have people carry the flags of their "home" countries--not the flag of America.
But the overriding question in all of this? WHERE IS THE INS??

a bat question....I have a little brown bat hanging upside down (shoulder high) on the outside of my house. He is in the bright light and hasn't moved since I noticed him on Saturday morning. He is alive because his ear positions change. Any ideas? Not normal bat behavior to be out in the sunlight.
The bat may be injured and is hanging there to stay away from predators while healing. I generally don't mind bats (on the outside of the house, of course!). Is there a way to gently move the bat to a flower garden so it can "walk" (on its wingtips) under leaves for protection and darkness? That's what I did with the last one I found hanging on the side of the house.

One of the trivia questions about the 2000 election is: "Which major news organizations announced that Al Gore won the 2000 election in Florida, either at the time it occurred, or since."
The answer is: "None."
No major news outlet has ever declared that Algore won the 2000 election in Florida, and thus the Presidency, and that includes the New York Times.
That said, they prefer to keep the notion that somehow the 2000 vote was screwed up so they can create new mechanisms to count the votes (Stalin--"it is not the people who cast the votes that decide elections, it is the people who count the votes that do.").
Oh Lysie, I have been concerned about you for quite some time with your mil situation but now that your health is affected (and how could it not be), this is enough.
I pray that the doctors will take this situation out of your hands so you can live a normal life again.

60 different cities...and organizing 1 million protesters....who is behind this stunt.
They are playing the cockpit recorder tape from Flight 93 in court today...to be a fly on the wall being able to listen to that tape.
Taking three years off to learn to be a chef really put a hole in my resume. But it's a talking point if I ever get an interview.... I'll be great to have around during office functions. ;>)
