I've really tried on Elliot but I just don't get what people are hearing. I even rewound it on TiVo and listened again. I just can't get there. I just don't hear the depth and richness I want to hear. He's good technically but there is not enough support in my hearing of him. I think he's better than most though including Kellie, Ace, Bucky, Paris, and Mandisa (of late).

Personally, I like the tone and depth of Taylor's and Chris's voices. Personal preference obviously.

It's a jazz/soul sort of mix. In my car you would likely find me listening to Chris singing than someone like Elliott but that has far more to do with the energy of the music than the singer. He really needs to learn how to sit on his notes rather than vibrate them so much as it becomes obvious that he hasn't learned how to do this, yet. Compared to the other singers though, he could sing into his 60's where as Ace, Chris, Bucky and probably Taylor will have had to stop. He's got a Vegas act just calling his name. Very much a throw back to Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Sammy and company.

Wyatt, I had almost come all the way around to picking Taylor as my personal favorite this year, but what the heck happened to him the last couple of weeks? Rhetorical question, of course. You don't know the answer any more than I do. He was just horrible last night. I think he might have been trying to sing in that very high-pitched John Denver style, and he just doesn't have that in his range. I would not be at all surprised to see him go tonight after that performance.

It's a shame, because he had been bringing a sense of fun and musicality to what is proving to be something of a dull season for me.

Me too. Chris's more than Taylor's lately.
