I think his real point was, the left brain, right brain thing. Turning off the left brain and functioning with the right while watching tv basically turns us all into "women" mentally, which cause us to be easily manipulated.

IIRC, the biggest difference between men's and women's brains is that men's brains have a well-defined split and a small, well-regulated connection between the left and right halves, whereas women's brains have a much greater connection between the halves. I'm not brave enough to publicly comment on the results of that difference :-p

I can say, though, that if true this article indicates that TV does something much, much worse than turning us into "women"...it makes us left-handers!
