I finally got to get back to y'all. I was having a tough time doing it at work. I've got trail pictures but not many. Bluebell did fine for a horse that hasn't been ridden in 6 yrs, but she definately took two hands to "steer" and was all over the trail even then. We had a bad start when she tried to kick the trailer door down when I tried to load Blade in the trailer next to her. Poor Blade didn't know what to do. Here I was on one side telling him to get in and Bluebell is on the other telling him that if he doesn't backoff she's gonna kick his lights out. I had to pop her on the butt with the lead and tell her to quit it. My BIL also gave her a little feed to distract her and she calmed down. I guess she remembered that the last time another horse came up from behind like that she got 'poked' and wanted no part of that again. ;o) Then Blade didn't want to get in with that "crazy mare" but finally did. He sure was hugging the outside wall though. Poor boy. Then I drove over 2 and a half hours and met my friend Carolyn and her husband Gary at a Cracker Barrel parking lot so I could follow them the last few miles. Well, their truck wouldn't start when we got ready to go. They'd been having starter problems for a while and it finally died...on a Sunday morning. Gary told us to go on and he'd try to get somebody to replace it. So we left him, the truck and horse trailer with his horse on it, sitting there next to a cattle hauler full of mooing cows. The poor horse was freaking out over all the Mooing. We did find an Auto Zone on our way out, stopped and bought the part and took it back to the truck, but the hard part was trying to get a mechanic on a Sunday morning. The Auto Zone guy called a 24-hr wrecker/mechanic service he knew and somebody was supposed to come put the starter on but said he'd have to find the mechanic. We went on and rode and he was going to catch up to us when the truck was fixed. Long story short, the mechanic finally came and fixed the truck and Gary caught up to us right after we got back to the trailer at the end of the ride. Oh yeah, we got lost on the trail too, so we rode longer than we intended, but hey, a bad day on the trail is better than a good day at the office. Sorry for writing a book, but this was the short version. ;o) So now, the pictures such as they are...

Carolyn on Blade...

Me & Bluebell...

An overlook at the river. Boy, this place was high! And apparently kids jump off of this place into the water. Not this ol' gal though!!...

The End of the Day. Driving back across the Tennessee River at Decatur, AL...
