sobering that there were no --scenes from next week --on 24

You got it!
What was it that Palmer said to Jack about the eye of the needle? Donald Sutherland was in a movie called "Eye of the Needle." After the visual references to "Flatliners" I'm thinking they threw a reference for Kiefer's dad in.

BTW, I am not so sure that we were sold out. The "deal" was better than I feared. WE get the 3 judges who we wanted---and the constitutional option is still available for when needed. I dont think they took a position with regard to the other judge candidates --after the 3 who get in [ie an up or down vote] and the two who wont get certainty of an up or down vote.
But I dont want ot distract the 2 list.

Yes, Julia Roberts was in FLATLINERS and then she broke Kiefer's heart practically at the altar! Hussy....

Why didn't they just tell the Chinese what really happened with Marwan and the missile - and then have both sides come up with the face-saving gestures?

The "deal" was better than I feared. WE get the 3 judges who we wanted- I wont believe it until I see those 3 on a bench until then the dems can change their mind and say those 3 are now "extraordinary circumstances".
the constitutional option is still available for when needed.
We dont have the votes, Frist messed up he should have gone today with a cloture vote and not wait.
If the GOP with 55 Senators cannot get conservatives Judges passed we lost, and the Dems gained.

maybe Jack discovers evidence that the chicoms were funding Marwan then the evidence gets to Keeler [through Palmer, of course] and that sets the premise for resurfacing Jack--because the Chicoms have to retreat because htey were ultimately at fault. The CHiComs still try to kill Jack;

I am wondering that the chicoms may have been behind Marwan--at least with money. That would be a new angle to "teach" to the American public more broadly: the chinese effort behind terrorism. 24 breaks a lot of PC expectations and "dont cross this line" jazz that floats around Hollywood.
Now that would appeal to the 24 writers -who , the more I hear baout them the more promising they seem. If it were Jack who uncovered this, he could then push this vital knowledge and prepare the way for his "return" to official status.

Didn't like the ending much but it leaves lots of loose ends for a new series. Jack's out in the cold now.
Agent going dark.

The whole thing with Jack and his fiance didnt work for me..Let's see, now, if I get this..Bauer saves her life, her dad's life, her brother's life, one million Americans, AND she dumps him?

Hussy.... She didn't deserve him... ;>)

And Jack pretty much killed her estranged husband, Paul--that was the straw that broke Audrey's back.
To: silent_jonny

Audrey didn't deserve Jack! She was a wimp.

YOu know, watching the show htis year for the first time, I was surprised at how often the private sex livess of the characters had such a big impact on national security crises. Seemed like a lot of crap..then I remembered the Clinton administration..

Yeah, it does bother me. I kept thinking tonight, it's too bad Michelle had to be compromised with her connection to Tony.
Think how much this must go on.
There's something to be said for keeping personal stuff out of the workplace, but we all know it happens all the time.
To: ontos-on
Could be, could be....the speculation is almost as fun as the show! Almost.....heh, heh, heh...
Let the possible scenarios begin! This thread does not have to end until next January!
