This is not at all related to WFTD, but I just wanted to tell someone this.
I have spoken to several friends and family in FL and OH, and even safe states of GA, NC, and TN. The margin of this election was not expected because of the efforts of the churches and average community volunteer. Personally, I was able to convince 4 democrats to vote Bush, and another 12 or so voters from my church, who did not even plan on voting, to vote for President Bush. My brother drove several first time voters to the polls, both he and I went into the booth with several voters who needed assistance, and we were glad to do so. It was the first time I have accomplished this, actually the first time I tried. I know if my brother and I were able to succeed in this, there were many others who did the same.
I am not personally taking credit for any great act; I am simply pointing out that the church and community mobilized in FL and OH and turned out UNLIKELY voters for Bush. These are people that were not accounted for in the pre-election polls.
Thank you for allowing me to express what I saw here. My part of Miami went very heavily for John Kerry, but we worked hard in the enemy's territory to squeeze out a handful of Bush votes.
