Great start, Chair.
I've only time for a few observations about the debate.
1. I thought the President took the wrong tack about Iraq. Thought he ought to have maintained that it wasn't going badly at all and that the Old Media has been improperly reporting what was going on in a country the size of CA and city the size of LA... not very many deaths at all compared to CA, in fact. Still mourn every one, but it is either engage the terrorists there or here.
2. sKerry's lies ought to be easy to take advantage of, but most especially his statement that he's "never wavered in my life" was a gift that will keep on giving as the next month wears on.
3. The President's closing statement was fantastic (and he did well the last half hour - after the "compliment") and I believe it will carry the night in the end. Kerry's was very flat.
4. My 7 yo Daughter..."I can't believe this guy was ever a senator"...
5. As time wears by, I think the President will gain with this vs. sKerry ... though less polished, his answers resonate well.
I'm in charge of the machine here today, so won't be able to respond to others takes much...

1. The New York subway was NEVER shut down during the Republican convention.
2. Saying he never wavered was ridiculous, given that he is on tape doing exactly that.
3. The "global test" comment was a disaster for him.
4. Giving nuclear material to the mullahs is a suicidal idea.
5. He wants multilateralism in Iraq, but unilateralism in North Korea.
I am sure there are more./ This is just what I can remember off the top of my head.
Good morning everyone! It is definitely fall here in Indiana. I am finally wearing long jeans, which I avoid doing until it is simply too chilly. I am babysitting at The Coopster's today, so there will be lags in my response time.
I would also like to say that President Bush may not be the slickest debater, but he tells the truth, is a good and decent man, and he loves this country more than himself. I am proud to support him, and I think people need to remember that everyone told us that Gore won the first debate. It wasn't until several days of people making fun of the sighing and pointing out his obnoxiousness that people realized who had REALLY won. So start pointing out those lies and goofy ideas to your friends and neighbors. They heard them but didn't realize the implications of what he said. GET BUSY! We are going to win this election!
