Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm sure I've seen it, but it's been so long since I watched any tv, that I forgot exactly what it is.

Heh, no he didn't.
Oh-oh-oh-oh
I was there to match my intellect on national tv
Against a plumber, oh, and an architect, both with a phd
I was tense, I was nervous, I guess it just wasnt my night
Art fleming gave the answers
Oh, but I couldnt get the questions right, -ight, -ight
I lost on jeopardy, baby (oooh)
I lost on jeopardy, baby (oooh)
Well, I knew I was in trouble now
My hope of winning sank
Oh, cause I got the daily double now
And then my mind went blank
I took potpourri for one hundred
And then my head started to spin
Well, Im givin up Don Pardo
Just tell me now what I didnt win, yeah, yeah
I lost on jeopardy, baby (oooh)
I lost on jeopardy, baby (oooh)
Thats right, Al--you lost. and let me tell you what you didnt win: a twenty volume set of the Encyclopedia International, a case of turtle wax, and a years supply of rice-a-roni, the San Francisco treat. But thats not all. You also made yourself look like a jerk in front of millions of people. You brought shame and disgrace to your family name for generations to come. You dont get to come back tomorrow. You dont even get a lousy copy of our home game. Youre a complete loser!
Dont know what I was thinkin of
I guess I just wasnt too bright
Well, I sure hope I do better
Next weekend on the price is right, -ight, -ight
I lost on jeopardy, baby (oooh)
I lost on jeopardy, baby (oooh)
I lost on jeopardy, baby

Good night everyone...

G'night, Bear! BTW the season premiere of "Smallville" was really good. In addition to Lois' introduction, Clark flew for the first time and Margot Kidder cameoed as Christopher Reeve's assistant. They also introduced something called "black Kryptonite"--that's a new one to me.
To: Fedora
I meant to watch that, hmm. oh well.

I should start phrasing everything in the form of a question.
What is "good night"?

where are the rest of you?I was partying!
Well... ok, it was me and two galpals. And it was coding work. But we had fun, in a geeky sort of way. They even managed to eat my cooking.

[sigh]
There is so much work to be done, here...
First off: the words "partying" and "coding" are never to be used in same sentence, unless accompanied by the words "Projectile" and/or "vomit"...
As used in a sentence it might be: "So there I was, holding her hair out of the vomit while we resolved the last of the user interface issues for the final version of the gold code for the system". ...or something like that. :-)
I'm just trying to be helpful here. :-)
